Mare/Foal Care At Last Farm offers full mare care and foaling. If you want your horse to have TLC (tender loving care), we have the place. A full time Broodmare Manager is on hand to take care of feeding, grooming, foaling, minor medical care and good record keeping. A vet is nearby for emergencies or regular veterinary care. All boarding mares on put on a special diet of cooked oats through the winter months. When the foals are due the manger monitors the mare by remote wireless camera to the monitor in the broodmare office, where she spends her nights. IMPRINTING = GOOD BEHAVIOR Each foal is imprinted from the time of birth. They are given a halter and led to a paddock on the second day, weather permitting. Each foal is taught good manners. We have a strict but gentle teaching method. Good manners stay with them from birth. BROODMARE FACILITY DESCRIPTION There are 15 acres of pasture and 4 acres in paddocks. The main broodmare barn has six stalls. Two out buildings have three stalls each. The stalls are heated by red heat lamps in the winter and cooled by ceiling fans and/or ground or hanging fans in the summer.
