Layups

The staff of At Last Farm is trained to handle medical problems. We follow directions from the veterinarian for medical procedures and rehabilitation. A vet is nearby for x-rays and follow-ups. The owner of the horse may choose to send their own vet.

At Last Farm uses the most current methods of treatment. We use Bio-find to help locate the injured areas and Bio-Scan to help cure the injury. We also use magnetic therapy; laser therapy and good old-fashioned massage therapy. It goes without mention that we wrap and use poultice and other rubs to help with pulls and swelling. Of course the greatest cure for injuries is time and rest.

Once the horse is declared healed by the vet, the horse will slowly be worked, conditioned and legged up to return to the track.
